TESTIMONIALS A new page for the website. If you want to include a testimonial, please complete the form below. My name is Gregg Oppel. I am the Varsity Baseball Coach at North Harrison High School, thanks in largely to Rick Parr who is now coaching at Morehead State University. A year ago Coach Parr brought me on board as an Varsity Assistant Coach at North Harrison High School when Coach Parr was named the Head Coach there. In his first year, we not only won our conference but a sectional title. Coach Parr not only taught these young men about baseball, he taught them about integrity and valuable life lessons on how to overcome and achieve. In my opinion Coach Parr is what I call a "master teacher" because he relates and gets across his point to the player so they can carry out their objective. Sometimes, it may seem to come easily for Coach Parr, as he has won so many games and been apart of so much and given so much to the game. It was an honor to sit beside Coach Parr and value his wisdom and expertise as we talk often. And our conversations are not always about baseball, most are about how former players are doing. Thank you for this opportunity Coach Parr, for if you had not given me this opportunity to coach, I would not be where I am today. Gregg Oppel, North Harrison High School,

"Over the last 14 years I
have gotten to know Rick both professionally and now consider him a
personal friend. He is a great teacher of the fundamentals of the
game. His hard work and passion for the game really comes across to his
players. One of his attributes is his ability to get the most out of
each individual player. One of the ways Rick is able to raise an
individuals skill level is through his past experience as a college and
professional player and collegiate coach. He has been there and has an
understanding of what it take to be successful in today's game of
baseball"

Rick Parr is one of the best coaches I have played under and coached with. His knowledge of hitting, defense, and pitching, through playing experience and many years of coaching, has helped Rick become an excellent instructor and well-known coach. Rick is unusual because he has very much experience in the three main aspects of baseball: Pitching, Fielding, and Hitting. His approach for pitchers is straight forward and effective. His style requires a pitcher to have or gain sound mechanics, which he is able to develop in almost every pitcher. Aside from mechanical aspects, Rick knows how to call pitches, breakdown hitters, and help a pitcher stay in the game longer because it all helps get strike one! His experience as both a hitter and pitcher has given him the ability to do so. As a pitcher, I showed much improvement after working with Rick during my time with the Dubois Co. Bombers, a collegiate summer baseball team. As a reliever, he helped me develop a routine and guided me to focus on precise mechanics, efficiency, and physical conditioning. Because of his help, I was able to take the mount every game during a grueling summer schedule. During my time with the Bombers, two years as a player, I was one of the first guys out of the bullpen night after night and was able to do so because of Rick’s help. I was also able to carry his guidance to my university baseball program. I tied the record for career appearance at the University of Southern Indiana, 63, and could have done more if necessary. Thanks to Rick I was able to help my team frequently. I was able to start during the weekday games and relieve on the weekends. Rick’s program helped me attain that kind of conditioning. As a fielder Rick played one of the most athletically demanding positions in baseball. His abilities in centerfield, his speed, and his knowledge of positioning himself, gave him the best chance to make outs. His time spent in the Red Sox organization and his coaching experience has only improved his capabilities as an instructor and coach. With my experience as a college third baseman, I saw Rick teach many of the same skills that helped me reach the collegiate level as a position player. However, Rick’s greatest strength is his knowledge of hitting. He excelled during his time in the professional ranks as a position player. His hitting ability was a key reason for his success. He has a keen understanding of how pitchers approach certain types of hitters because of his pitching experience. That knowledge translates into hitting awareness, and helps him teach players understand the approaches pitchers take with hitters. Additionally, he can breakdown and see flaws in a hitters swing quickly, with the Bombers it only took two or three rounds of BP before he could diagnose problems with a swing. However, the more he saw each player the better he could evaluate and fix the problems they had. As a player and a coach with Rick I witnessed improvements in many of the hitters under his guidance.Rick has an excellent baseball background and has helped hundreds of players improve and reach new heights. Rick not only knows baseball, he knows people and is one of the best people I have met. Working with Rick was a pleasure and he helped me become a better ballplayer and pitching coach since I met him. Aaron Clark Pitched at University of Southern Indiana and the Dubois County Bombers in the CICL Was Coach Parr's pitching coach for Dubois for the 2007 Summer. Currently is going to Graduate School at Eastern Kentucky University
Throughout the past year I have had the opportunity to learn under Coach Rick Parr at Morehead State University. As our pitching coach he was able to bring his years of experience from the professional ranks as well as his stellar career as a collegiate head coach. There is no doubt my skills and complete understanding of the game increased with everyday that passed. Coach Parr does an excellent job of tailoring ways for each individual player to enhance their skills. I would encourage each and every player to take an opportunity to learn under Rick Parr so that they are able to take their skills and abilities to another level. You will most certainly be satisfied with your results! Tyler Bess Morehead State University Baseball
My son, Max Cole, wanted
to learn how to pitch. He was 7 years old at the time. We looked around for a
pitching instructor. Coach Parr was very patient with him and broke it down to
his level so he could understand. Coach Parr has taught Max the proper mechanics
of pitching so he will not damage his arm. If I see that Max’s pitching is a
little off, I’ll call Coach Parr and he is always available to go through the
mechanics and pinpoint the area where he needs some adjustment. I am incredibly
grateful to Coach Parr for his help. Max still visits him and will go over
different areas in his pitching that may need improvement. I would strongly
recommend Coach Parr to any athlete looking to strengthen his pitching skills
and further his career in baseball.

RPBaseball has worked wonders with my son Garrett. After a tough Freshman
year at the plate we asked Coach Parr to help Garrett with his swing. What a
difference, the next season he had a great year at the plate and continues
to improve. Coach Parr instilled confidence and helped my son to one of the
best swings on his team. He is a great role model and has a great rapport
with the kids. If you are serious about Baseball and want a leg up on the
competition RP Baseball and Coach Parr are the answer.
